Joe Simon packaged many outstanding comic book titles on a creator-owned basis for his close friend Alfred Harvey, the publisher of the original Harvey Comics. The 3 Rocketeers was published in October, 1965, and is an example of just one of the many fine projects Simon produced for the Harvey line. The 3 Rocketeers features the terrific art of Joe Simon, Jack Kirby, Al Williamson, and Carl Burgos. As a side note, Burgos was the creator of the famous Golden Age character, The Human Torch. Simon, the first editor of Marvel Comics, knew Burgos from those golden age days when Marvel published the early issues of The Human Torch.
